This football stadium is amazing

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Atlanta, Georgia , United States. [14] Opened in August 2017 as a replacement for the Georgia Dome , it serves as the home stadium of the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) and Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer (MLS).

The stadium is owned by the state government of Georgia through the Georgia World Congress Center Authority , and operated by AMB Group , the parent organization of the Falcons and Atlanta United. In June 2016, the total cost of its construction was estimated at US$ 1.6 billion.

On October 22, 2017, Atlanta United played an MLS regular season match versus Toronto FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in front of 71,874 spectators, beating the record they set for the largest crowd in a stand-alone MLS match in September against Orlando City (which also marked the first time the roof was opened for a soccer game). Atlanta United also set the single-season record for attendance.

Officially opened in 2017 and located in Atlanta’s downtown tourist and entertainment district, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the official home for Atlanta United, representing the latest in design and features for a multi-purpose venue. Mercedes-Benz Stadium features a 42,500-seat soccer configuration and a cutting-edge curtaining system creating an intimate, high energy setting for soccer matches.

The stadium also has the flexibility to expand the soccer configuration into the 300 level which allows the capacity to increase to over 70,000 and in turn, provided the opportunity for Atlanta United to break Major League Soccer's single-match attendance record on October 22nd, 2017 when they housed 71,874 for their regular season match against Toronto FC.
